Hey guys, I'm afraid I have some bad news to deliver. Spacing Out will be going on hiatus again for a little while. I'm not sure how long, it could be a couple weeks to a couple months. And at the very least, you deserve to know why.

For the last couple of months, my dog, Max, has been having fits where he'd gag and cough uncontrollably. We've had him on medicine to help curb it, but it had gotten so bad tonight that we decided to take him to an emergency veterinary hospital.

At first, they wanted to keep him overnight to see if his condition improved under their care, but a little later they told us that his chances weren't good. They decided it was best to put him down. We were all there to keep him calm, and he fell asleep in our arms.

Max fell asleep at 12:05, 5/29/2017.

I'm not looking for pity or anything, I just wanted to let you all know the reasons behind the hiatus. This message is probably going to seem disjointed and probably like I am seeking pity, I'm writing it after a long, shitty day at work, followed by an evening that makes me feel worthless as a pet owner.

I wish that I had more time to share with him. He's been there for me for ten years, there when I wake up and there when I go to sleep. It hurts, but I know he's in a better place.

Please, for your own pets' sakes, love them unconditionally. Even when they annoy you and get on your nerves, let them know you care. Give them all the love you can spare and then some. Give them pettings and kisses and treats. Take them for a walk just for the exercise. And when it's time to say goodbye, be there for them. Hold them and let them know you love them and always have and always will.

Rest in peace, Max. I'll always love my squishy-faced baby.
